Start Without Technical Background

This guide assumes you have never configured an API key or used a terminal.

Overview

  1. Download Navin.
  2. Install it like a standard desktop application.
  3. Complete the three-step setup wizard.
  4. Send your first message in chat.

Download and install

  1. Open navin.live/download in your browser.
  2. Choose your operating system and download the installer.
  3. Run the installer and open Navin.

If Windows shows a security warning, click More info, then Run anyway. If macOS says the app cannot be opened, right-click the app and choose Open.

Setup wizard

Step 1 - Language

Select English or Français (WebUI). The marketing site also supports العربية.

Step 2 - Model access

Choose one of the following:

  • Use my own API key (recommended) - paste a key from OpenRouter, OpenAI, or another provider. Keys are stored only on your computer. The product remains free when you use your own keys.
  • Connect navin.live (optional) - sync plan, license, and devices. Paid plans provide managed model credits.

Step 3 - Next action

  • Demo workspace - open the bundled sample project.
  • Chat - go directly to the conversation screen.

First chat

On the empty chat screen, select a suggested action (for example “Create a project plan”) or type your request.

Troubleshooting

  • No reply: open Settings → Providers and confirm a provider is configured, or reconnect under Settings → Account.
  • Installer blocked by Windows or macOS: see the install notes on navin.live/docs/install.

Privacy

Chats, files, and memory stay on your computer. An optional navin.live account syncs plan, license, and device activations only.
